After planting more grass seed on the sideof the house, went to Legacy to air out. One trip to the south end and back. Got back with the help of head lights.

Got to Legacy about 11:00 am and ran into Eric, my racing bike buddy. He wants me to look into finishing his 1500 sq Ft basement. Who says biking doesn't pay off. One trip down and back. At one time I was moving faster than NB I-15. Got to love road construction in Utah

Bike the Bear - 2009

Went to BSA Camp Hunt and participated with about 400 others in riding our bikes around the Bear Lake. There were alot more adults riders than youth riders this year. Seems the Scoutmasters with all the patience are getting less and less. Began about 7:00 am and finished 4 hours and 11 minutes later. Very enjoyable ride with hardly any aches in the tail bottom. Must be getting used to this old mountain bike.

Grabbed a fishing pole and my mountain bike and headed to Willard Bay. Last night I went fishing with Bro Warren Nielsen up to East Canyon Dam and figured I could do the same today at Willard. WRONG !! At least I got a bike ride in, and all the way around the dike carrying two fishing poles and a tackle box is no easy task !

After the Ward Swim Party at Farmington grabbed a ride down Legacy. Parked at the Train station and rode bike to the party then back on the trail to the southern end and back. Back to the parking lot at 9:51 pm.

Later start but was on the Legacy trail by 9:00 am. Afterwards went to work at Bountiful and completed the job.

It was tough riding this morning for several reasons. (1) I've reached my goal. (2) Amy and the family's down and why ride when you can have Grands climbing all over you. (3) The wind was blowing hard from the south, making the first 12 miles plus a real uphill. Finished Legacy in about 1 hr 40 minutes. Riding north was a real pleasure.

One Thousand Miles

I started this current goal on 12 June 2009. Today is 12 August 2009, or Day Number 62. I dropped Landon off at Northridge High a few minutes after 7:00 am and headed directly to Farmington Station and the Legacy Parkway. Rode my bike to the southern end and was back to the suburban for a bagel and banana by 9:00 am. Decided to do the run again, before it gets super hot again. I was back again to the sub before 11:00 am, and then headed to Bountiful to actually do some work. Dug post holes but my legs were really tired. One thousand miles is a long way on a mountain bike. Ta-da !!!

Had to run Landon to Farmington Jr High for a 2 hour class so while I was there I figured I'd get one more bike ride down and back. Was back at the school to pick him up by 9:25 am.

Took the mountain bike and rode Legacy this morning. The weather is cooler than normal so it was a very nice ride.

I was aching but when again down Legacy after supper tonight. I've never rode a bike as much in one day as I did today. 76 Miles in one day has got to be a new record for me.

Felt really ambious this morning so I headed to the Legacy Parkway. Arrived about 8:23 am and made two full laps down and back. About the same as one trip around Bear Lake. At 12:10 was back to the sub. So it was less than 4 hours total.
